Two legendary vocalists are joining forces for a December 31 party like no other, a little birdie told us. Although that tiny birdie really came in the form of an Instagram post, the spirit is the same.
Dolly Parton, who was just inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, is travelling to Miami to organise a New Year's Eve party with her goddaughter and fellow musician Miley Cyrus.
The happy news was communicated by the two titans in nearly similar posts. Dolly wished the "Wrecking Ball" singer a happy birthday and wrote, "I can't wait to celebrate with [her] and ring in the new year!!" Miley's post simply said, "#NewYearNewCoHost @dollyparton."
Dolly was radiant in a sequin long sleeve dress and matching shoes, while Miley kept things simple in a bodycon black dress and heels. Both women were dressed in color-coordinated, form-fitting outfits.
As the daughter of country music star Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley was exposed to music from an early age. After seeing Miley for the first time while on tour with Billy Ray, Dolly decided she wanted to be involved in her fairy goddaughter's life.Since then, the two have co-starred in Hannah Montana, lending their distinctive voices to performances that will live in infamy.
The 76- and 30-year-old musical legends also teased their "epic" New Year's Eve party in a brief Instagram video with followers.
Fans were shocked by the revelation, as is to be expected when two legendary artists reveal a rare collaboration, and instantly flooded the comment area with sentiments like:
