Publicist for Taylor Swift disputes that the celebrity secretly wed Joe Alwyn
The spokeswoman for Taylor Swift has denied claims that the music sensation secretly wed her ex-partner Joe Alywn.
After Deuxmoi, an anonymous celebrity gossip account, published the claims, Tree Paine claimed that it was causing "pain and trauma".
Deuxmoi said on Instagram Stories that the Cruel Summer hitmaker wed Joe in an unofficial ceremony in 2020 or 2021.
Tree posted on X/Twitter, saying, "Enough is enough with these fabricated lies about Taylor from Deuxmoi."
"There was NEVER a marriage or ceremony of ANY kind."
In May 2023, rumours of Taylor and Joe's breakup made headlines. Since then, the Shake It Off singer has been connected to NFL player Travis Kelce.
After stating that they "make zero dollars from lying," Deuxmoi asked, "Can publicists say the same?" in response to Tree's tweet.
"In any case, I'm sorry to Taylor," the post said.
Since 2014, Tree has served as the head of Taylor's public relations team. She frequently attends events with Taylor, including the London premiere of Beyoncé's Renaissance tour film.
The 12-time Grammy winner once said that Tree "tells me what to do" in an interview with a fan.
You're Losing Me, which Taylor just put on streaming sites, is perceived by many fans as being about the breakdown of her and Joe's relationship.
However, Taylor's colleague Jack Antonoff claimed that the song was recorded on December 5, 2021, just before Joe and Taylor's breakup.
Deuxmoi: What is it?
The Instagram account claims to be a "curator of pop culture" and has amassed over two million followers.
It has a reputation for publishing anonymous messages about celebrities from unreliable sources, covering everything from news about relationships to launches of new films, albums, and products.
Deuxmoi's Instagram bio says, "Some statements made on this account have not been independently confirmed."
"This account does not claim information published is based in fact."
Additionally, it shares celebrity photos that fans have uploaded, taken while the celebs are out and about.
The account's author wishes to remain anonymous, despite MailOnline's 2022 allegation that a woman was the account's creator.
Deuxmoi said she wasn't a "investigative journalist" in an interview with the website.
